Greeley Block Party 2013 Spotlights – Silver and Gold

by Mariah Foster

silver and gold stairsSilver and Gold, a new Greeley band comprised of current and prior UNC music students, will be bringing their refreshing performance experience to this year’s Block Party, opening the Moxi afterparty for the Epilogues and The Photo Atlas. The long-time friends came together to finally play the music they love, naming themselves after a song by City and Colour, one of their greatest musical influences.

Frontman Devon Hildebrant and guitarist Pie Lombardi incorporate their very modern indie style with drummer Davis William’s energetic beats and Brandon Vela’s funky bass lines. Female vocalist Claire Jensen adds a splash of melodic keyboard, creating an overall sound that blends poetic lyrics, fun dance jams, and progressive musical expression in perfect harmony.

The band is currently deciding where they would like to record their first EP, much to the excitement of their fans, and they are planning a major tour for the summer of 2013. Silver and Gold is a band you won’t want to miss at September’s Block Party, and audiences can stay up-to-date with all their show details at facebook.com/silverandgoldmusic.
