Early-birds who sought slightly-under-the-radar music at last month’s Block Party in downtown Greeley would have been well rewarded by peeking into the Jäger for the opening band chitchat.
That performance was just days after their first ever live show, though the Denver duo are no novices. Josh Kern, multi-instrumentalist, engineer and producer from such institutions as Rocky Mountain Recorders and the now-defunct band Left Hand Shakes teamed up with musical theater turned pop-punk vocalist Madisen Kwon forming the light yet emotive, nuanced electro-pop duo.
The two worked remotely, writing and demo-ing over FaceTime for months, finding time together in Denver to record properly during Kwon’s breaks from Smith College in Massachusetts. Their debut release, a cover of Lorde’s “Supercut,” was released via Proximity in August, and you can catch them live, on-air at KCSU FM in October.
Today, chitchat premiere the video for their latest single “Right Here” via BandWagon Magazine, below.
