It’s the annual BandWagon Magazine Battle of the Bands where Colorado’s best local bands compete for eternal glory, the grand prize of $5,000, and the cover of BandWagon Magazine –
Preliminary rounds will be held in Fort Collins, Denver, Colorado Springs, and Greeley:
Friday Nov. 7th – Black Buzzard Oskar Blues (Denver)
Friday Nov. 14th – Black Buzzard Oskar Blues (Denver)
Saturday Nov. 22nd – Moxi Theater (Greeley)
Friday Nov. 28th – Sound Bar (Fort Collins)
• Fan Voting: The Battle of the Bands is scored by a combination of your judge sheets and a crowd voting bonus. We are making some changes to the fan voting in hopes of making every vote count! The more ticket holders that vote for you, the better chance you have of winning.
We will have approximately 10 judges adjudicating each round. Each judge can award a maximum of 100 points to each band on their scorecard. Each fan vote cast will now add 1 point to the average. Each ticket holder will be given 2 votes.
(Example: Band 1 Scores 800/1000 points from the judges and receives 40 fan votes. They would now receive a total score of 840/1000).
BandWagon Magazineis a monthly arts and entertainment publication founded in 2011, highlighting artists, events, and the creative community across northern Colorado and southern Wyoming. In 2021, BandWagon expanded with BandWagon Presents, a live event promotion company producing concerts, comedy, and festivals throughout Colorado and Wyoming. With offices in Greeley and Denver, BandWagon combines media and live entertainment to platform local talent while bringing nationally touring acts to the region.
Since 2011, BandWagon has hosted an annual Battle of the Bands where Northern Colorado’s best local bands compete for eternal glory, the cash prize, and the cover of BandWagon Magazine! Past winners include local bands like Slow Caves, The Burroughs, Its Just Bugs, and Graham Good & The Painters.
In 2022, we expanded the battle to include bands across the Colorado front range! Preliminary rounds will take place in November in Denver, Greeley, Fort Collins, and Colorado Springs. One band from each night will move onto the final round at the Oriental Theater in Denver on Jan. 23rd, 2026. At the conclusion of the final round, one band will be crowned the 2025 champs and awarded $5,000 and the cover of BandWagon Magazine.
