Blind Melon Brings ‘No Rain’ to the Lincoln in Cheyenne

CHEYENNE, Wyo. — Time hasn’t dulled the charm or power of Blind Melon. The alt-rock mainstays rolled into the Lincoln on June 17, delivering a set that felt equal parts throwback and celebration. The Cheyenne crowd, an eclectic mix of longtime fans and younger faces discovering the band’s legacy, was treated to a night of spirited jams, unmistakable vocals, and that unshakable ’90s soul.

There’s a kind of magic when a band still owns its sound decades after debuting it, and Blind Melon proved exactly that. From the opening chords, the energy in the venue was undeniable. The band wasted no time digging into their catalog, feeding off the crowd’s growing anticipation. “No Rain,” arguably their most iconic track, had the whole room swaying and singing along. Phones lit up, people smiled, and the moment felt timeless.

Shannon Hoon’s absence will always be felt, but frontman Travis Warren stepped into the role with grace and grit. His vocals soared during “Change,” giving just enough edge to stir nostalgia without feeling like imitation. The rhythm section stayed locked in, driving the set with a groove-heavy pulse that elevated deeper cuts and kept longtime fans engaged.

The Lincoln was the perfect venue for it. Intimate enough to create connection, loud enough to let loose. The crowd, full of worn band tees and beer cups, didn’t just watch the show—they lived it. Every riff, every lyric, every beat reminded everyone there that this music still hits.

In a time when many nostalgia acts settle for safe, Blind Melon brought the real thing. Honest rock. Heartfelt performances. And a sound that, after all these years, still feels like summer in the 90s.
