Barenaked Ladies with Violent Femmes at Red Rocks Amphitheater

by Dylan Adams

Red Rocks Amphitheater was alive this weekend as Colin Hay opened up the Barenaked Ladies show who’s acoustic set consisted of mostly classics from his days back with Men at Work. He ended his set with a beautiful cover of the Beatles song, “Here Comes the Sun.” Violent Femmes took the stage for a 45 minute set that included the first new song that the band has performed in 15 years. The band was extremely on point creating a mix of spacey and grungy sounds for the enthusiastic fans. Headlining were the Barenaked Ladies who brought down the rocks with nostalgic jams, hilarious improved rapping, and playful their enlightening lyrics. The band played their Grammy nominated hit “If I had A Million Dollars,” and the widely infamous theme song to The Big Bang Theory as well as closing the show with an unforgettable hysterical renditions of pop songs like “Shake It Off,” “Let It Go,” and “Uptown Funk.”
