They say laughter is the best medicine and every Monday night, Hodi’s Half Note, located at 167 N. College Ave. in Fort Collins, serves up a healthy dose with their comedy open mic night. Anyone who wants to try their hand at stand up comedy can sign up between 7:00 pm and 7:30 pm for their five minutes of fame. The show itself starts at 8:00 pm and is free for anyone over the age of 21. For those under 21, it costs $5. For the over-21 crowd, there are drink specials like $2.50 microbrew drafts and $1.50 PBR. The usual crowd is lively and everyone knows each other. Regulars, such as Kat Winston, get up for their time on stage between newcomers and host Bob Gaudet keeps the crowd going between acts. Overall, Hodi’s Open Mic Comedy Night is a great experience for those who are looking for a good time with good people and who are looking to tickle their funny bone in the process.
